2007-08 Programs

May 2008
Our annual spring party was an outdoor barbeque held at the home of one of our members. We enjoyed wonderful weather, line dancing, great food, and we also held a purse-themed fundraising auction which benefited My Sister’s Place, a local domestic violence shelter. The Club’s parties are always a popular event, and this year was no exception, with our highest attendance for the year. Many thanks to all for a great evening of fun and fundraising.

April 2008
The club traditionally holds a member make-over and fashion show in April. This month was no exception as two of our members were the recipients of fabulous new looks courtesy of the Adam Pink Salon, and we all enjoyed a fashion show featuring the spring line from the CAbi Collection.

March 2008
Beth Mullarkey, special agent of the West Residential Office of the FBI visited this month and informed the group about internet crime, focusing on phishing and crimes against children. Beth kept our attention with her personal stories and dynamic presentation, and she gave us much insight on the cyberspace world of crime.

February 2008
Our Spaahh-tacular Pajama Party was a big hit. The Ladies munched on Smores and Muffins and of course Chocolate while being pampered by Chair Massages, Make up Applications and Nail treatments. Prizes were awarded in the Following Categories:

  • Most likely to be in The Frederick’s of Hollywood Catalog
  • Just what Granny would wear
  • Most likely to get a laugh if pulled over by a Police Officer!

Those in attendance enjoyed a relaxing and fun evening.

January 2008
The club rang in the New Year with a wine tasting sponsored by Club West and Southern Wine and Spirits. Jeff Douglas was our sommelier and poured a variety of wines for us to sample. Many of us liked them so much we purchased a bottle or two to take home. Those in attendance enjoyed the tasting as well as the easy conversation and friendship that the Club has become known for.

December 2007- Members-Only Holiday Party
Thanks to Jacque Stowe for opening up her beautiful home for our annual Holiday Party. She and her husband (our bartender for the evening!) hosted about 65 women for some great conversation and great food!

November 2007- Cooking Demonstration and Dessert Tasting
Members of the club wowed us with their favorite appetizer recipes for the holiday season. Five members shared the delectables with us after demonstrating how to assemble the ingredients for their creations. Several members also brought in holiday desserts with copies of the recipes to share with the attendees. This was a very enjoyable and popular meeting topic; we had over 50 ladies in attendance!

October 2007- South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute
LynnAnn Wojciechowicz and Liz Warren performed their art of oral storytelling. In the process, we learned how to tell our own stories, and we shared them with each other. What a unique way to get a conversation going!

September 2007- Meet & Greet Mixer
Our first meeting of the season was spent mingling with the likes of Barbra Streisand, Mother Teresa, and Calamity Jane. The Club got off to a fun start this year as we all donned a new persona and spent the evening unraveling clues to reveal our secret identities.
